They stack and lock, which matters practically as much as environmentally — a locked stack does not shift in the vehicle and does not crush the crate underneath it.

Yes. Crates are our default, not a rule we impose. Some things genuinely suit a box better — very long items, odd shapes, and anything going into long-term storage with a third party who will not hold our crates.

Tell us at survey and we will bring what the job needs.

Then we come back later. We agree the collection when you book and we can move it if you need to — this is meant to reduce hassle, not add a deadline to your week.

What does help is having somewhere to stack the empties as you go. A corner of a room is plenty.

They are washed and inspected between moves, and any that are cracked or damaged are pulled out of service and the plastic recycled rather than patched up.

If a crate turns up in a state you are not happy with, tell the crew and they will swap it.

The whole of the UK. London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Sheffield, Liverpool, Newcastle, Nottingham and Cardiff are our regular collection and delivery points, and we run to addresses well away from them just as readily.

Long moves between those points are where a shared load makes the most difference.

Your goods travel as part of a fuller vehicle running your route rather than a half-empty van making the trip for you alone. Everything is inventoried, labelled and bulkheaded so consignments do not mix.

It is usually both the lower-footprint option and the cheaper one, which is unusual enough that we say it plainly. The trade-off is that it travels when the vehicle travels — within an agreed window rather than on a date you name.

Yes, with a dedicated vehicle. Where a date is set by a completion or a tenancy end, a shared load is the wrong answer and we will quote a dedicated one instead rather than talking you into a window you cannot use.

If you want us to, yes — full packing, part packing for just the kitchen and the fragile things, or crates delivered for you to fill yourself. Most people take the middle option.

Whichever you choose, breakables get proper protection. The crate is the container, not the padding.

That depends on the volume, the access at both ends, the distance and whether the load is shared or dedicated — which is why we will not give you a figure before we have looked at it.

Your written quote sets out the expected window for your move, and we tell you what would change it.

We read everything that comes in and reply by email once we have been through it, normally within a working day or two.

If your move is time-critical, say so in the notes and we will treat it that way.

We sort it at survey into three routes: things that can be reused as they are, things a charity or reuse organisation will take, and things that genuinely have to be disposed of. The first two are almost always bigger than people expect.

Disposal goes through licensed waste carriers and you get a copy of the waste transfer documentation.

No, and anyone who guarantees it is not being straight with you. Reuse organisations have their own rules about upholstery, fire labels and condition, and those rules change.

What we will do is tell you at survey what is realistic for your specific items, and arrange collection where a partner will take them.

WEEE-regulated equipment goes through a licensed route with documentation. Usable kit is separated from kit that is genuinely finished before anything is collected.

You get the records, so your own reporting can be written from something real.

No, and we are not going to say we are. Removals is a diesel industry and a neutrality claim would rest on offsets we have not bought and could not show you.

What we do is described in specifics on our standards page — crates that come back, consolidated loads, sorted clearance, licensed disposal. Those are things you can hold us to.

Some urban work, yes. A loaded long-distance move, not yet — the range and payload are not there and claiming otherwise would be marketing rather than fact.

If we earn an accreditation it will appear with a registration number you can check. Until then, what you get is a description of what actually happens.

Not inherently. Crate hire replaces the cost of buying packing materials, and a shared load is usually cheaper than a dedicated vehicle.

Where a low-waste choice does cost more — a separate donation collection, for instance — we itemise it so you can decide rather than discovering it in a total.
